Luncheon Schedule

Event Starts

11:30 am - 12:15 pm

Welcome to the Luncheon! Arrive to the West entrance of the Floyd and enjoy a grilled oyster, accompanied by the warmth of a bonfire greeting by the Boy Scouts of Troop 86.

Silent Auction

11:30 am - 12:15 pm

Inside the Floyd, you will find an array of items and experiences in our Silent Auction to bid upon, all donated from local businesses and individuals. Pick up silent auction items towards the end of the luncheon, following the Director’s Toast.

Director’s Welcome

The Executive Director of the Stanwood Area Historical Society, Fred Poyner IV, will give a welcome and highlights from the past year in our operations, and in introduction of the luncheon’s guest speaker, Jill Morelli. Past president Dave Eldridge will also offer some brief remarks about the 50th Anniversary of SAHS.

12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

Jill Morelli, Certified Genealogist, is a writer, lecturer and co-founder of Applied Genealogy Institute, providing practicum-based educational opportunities for intermediate and advanced genealogists. Since the time of Genesis, people have been fascinated with their lineage. Jill will look at a very brief history of genealogy and how it has changed over millennia. What’s next?

Director’s Toast

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The Executive Director will offer a group toast to the next 50 years with the Stanwood Area Historical Society, along with a thank you to all of our guests and sponsors. Galleries on the second and third floors of the Floyd will be open for visitors at 1:30.

Field Greens, With Fruit, Cheese and Nuts

Crisp greens topped with fruit, cheese, and nuts of your choice, served with our house balsamic dressing.

Artisan Dinner Rolls

Warm fresh-baked rolles, mixed-multigrain, sourdough, poppyseed and white. Includes butter pats.

Mashed Potatoes

Creamy mashing Yukon potatoes with olive oil, garnished with fresh parsley.

Farmer’s Market Vegetables

Roasted or blanched fresh seasonal vegetables.

Oven Baked Salmon with Lemon and Herbs

Tender and moist, served with a simple herb sauce on the side.

Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs

Crowd favorite. Prime flavorful rib meat, seared, cooked low and slow perfectly fork-tender. Served with demi-glace and topped with fresh herbs.

Dessert

Flourless Chocolate Brownie with Whipped Cream and Berry Coulis. Our fudgy, flourless, famous brownie that is sure to make you swoon.

Beverages

Beer from Saal Brewing Company will be on tap. A Riesling (2018 vintage) provided by Edward Lynne Cellars.
